What it does not include
- Extra features. Pro is Lite with a larger allowance and more workspaces, and pretending otherwise would mean inventing something to charge for.
- Unlimited workspaces. Pro covers 3; extra domains are $49 each, and Agency covers 10.
- Unlimited engine spend. A larger ceiling is still a ceiling.
- Weekly re-checks. Those are monitoring, and monitoring is a subscription.
What “lifetime” means, precisely. The licence does not expire and is not a subscription. It does not mean unlimited engine spend: every answer costs real money and the annual credit allowance is the ceiling. If MentionMachine is ever discontinued, the terms set out the notice period, the data export you get, and what happens to your reports. We would rather you read that before buying than after.
Before you buy
What do I get that Lite does not give me?
Credits and workspaces: 900 a year rather than 500, and 3 client workspaces rather than one. Every other feature is identical. We would rather say that plainly than invent a Pro-only button, because the thing that actually costs more to serve is the engine spend, and that is what you are paying for.
Which one should I buy?
Lite, unless you already know you want to re-scan often. The allowance resets every year and unused credits do not roll over, so paying for headroom you never use is money for nothing. Nobody is upgraded automatically and nobody is penalised for starting on Lite.
Can I upgrade from Lite later?
Not self-serve yet. Write to us and we will sort it out. We would rather say that than build a half-considered upgrade button that charges the wrong amount.
