Terms of service

MentionMachine asks public AI assistants and search surfaces questions on your behalf, records what they answer, scores how your website is set up to be read by them, and generates suggested changes. It is a diagnostic and advisory tool.

We do not control what any AI engine says, and we cannot guarantee any particular outcome, ranking, mention or recommendation. Anyone who promises you that is guessing.

You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for everything done through your account. One account per person or business; you may not resell access unless you hold an agency licence, which permits it.

We do not verify that you own a domain you scan, and scanning a competitor is an accepted use. What your licence limits is how many domains you may track, not whose they are.

You must not use the service to scan a site in breach of any law, or in a way that amounts to harassment. We may refuse or withdraw service for either.

A lifetime licence does not expire and is not a subscription. It is the lifetime of the product, not of you or of your business.

It does not mean unlimited use. Every answer we fetch from an AI engine costs us money, so usage is metered in credits: Lifetime Lite includes 500 credits per year and Lifetime Pro includes 900, which reset annually and do not roll over. The allowance written onto your licence when you bought it is the one that applies, and we do not reduce it afterwards. Technical re-scans and cached answers are free and unlimited. If we discontinue the product, we will give at least 90 days' notice by email, stop selling new licences immediately, keep the service running for that notice period, and provide an export of your scans, reports and generated artifacts in a machine-readable format. We will not delete your data during the notice period.

Credits are consumed when we fetch a fresh answer from an engine. A cell that fails because an engine errored is refunded automatically. Free scans are limited by IP and by domain to keep the tool available.

We may apply a spend cap to an account showing usage far outside normal patterns. If we do, we will tell you why and it is reversible.

When an AI engine is asked a general question (“best mobile car detailing in Los Angeles”, for example) the answer is not specific to you, and we cache it and may serve it to another customer who asks the same question. This is why most scans cost far fewer credits than the number of questions they cover.

Only general, category-style questions are shared this way. Questions naming a specific business, and anything about your own site, your reports, your generated artifacts or your account, are never shared with another customer.

The Fix Pack is a suggestion, built from content we crawled from your own site. We check that any specific claim (a price, a timeframe, a figure) actually appears on your site before including it, and drop it if it does not.

You are responsible for what you publish. Read anything before you paste it onto your website, and check it is still accurate. We are not liable for the consequences of publishing content you did not check.

Prices are shown before purchase and charged in the currency displayed. Tax is added where applicable.

Because this is a digital product delivered immediately, we ask you at checkout to expressly consent to immediate performance and to acknowledge that doing so ends your statutory 14-day right to cancel. If you would rather keep the statutory right, write to us before buying and we will arrange delivery after the period ends instead.

Separately from that statutory right, we offer a 14-day refund on request if the product does not do what this page says it does. Ask us.

We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. AI engines change their APIs, rate limits and models without notice; when one becomes unavailable we report the affected answers as failed and refund the credits rather than substituting a guess.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Otherwise our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for lost profits, lost business or lost rankings.

We may update these terms. For a material change affecting an existing licence we will give notice by email before it takes effect. Changes to what a licence includes apply to purchases made after the change, never retroactively to one already bought.
