Service terms

A fixed-price piece of work, described on the page where you bought it and repeated in your order confirmation. That description is the scope: it is what we agreed, and it is what we will do.

Anything not in that description is not included. If you want something else we will quote for it separately rather than absorbing it or refusing it quietly.

We will tell you the turnaround before you pay, and it is shown on your order. The clock starts when we have what we need to begin (see §3) and pauses whenever we are waiting on you.

Your order page shows where the job is at any time, including when it is waiting on you and why.

We will never ask for your passwords, and you should never send them. If we need access, you invite us as a user from your own admin, and you remove us when the work is done. That way access is yours to grant, audit and revoke.

Where the change is a snippet you can paste yourself, we will simply send you the code and tell you exactly where it goes, often the fastest option for both of us.

If we cannot get the access we need, the job pauses and we will tell you what is missing. If it cannot be resolved, §4 applies.

If we cannot do the job, because we cannot get access or your setup makes the change impossible, you get a full refund within 48 hours of us telling you so.

Once the work is delivered it is not refundable, because it has been done. If you think it was done wrongly, tell us and we will put it right; that is not a refund question, it is a workmanship one, and §6 covers it.

You have the usual statutory rights as a consumer, and nothing here reduces them. Because this is a service you have asked us to begin straight away, starting work before the 14-day cancellation period ends is done with your consent, and you are liable for the value of what has been done up to the point you cancel.

You do. Everything we write for your site (markup, structured data, content, configuration) is yours outright once you have paid for it, to use, change or delete however you like.

We keep no claim over it and we do not license it back to you. The only thing we retain is our own general know-how, which is not something we could give away in any case.

If the change we made is broken or does not do what we said it would, tell us within 30 days and we will fix it at no charge. That is the sensible remedy and it is the one we will always reach for first.

We work carefully on live websites, but we do not control your hosting, your theme, your plugins or anybody else with access. Please take a backup before we start; if you cannot, say so and we will work on a staging copy where one exists.

Our liability for any one order is limited to what you paid for it. We do not accept liability for lost profits or lost business.

We do not control what ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini or Google say about you, and we cannot promise any particular ranking, mention or recommendation. Anyone who promises you that is guessing.

What we promise is that the change will be made correctly, that we will re-check it and show you the result, and that we will ask all five engines again about four weeks later and tell you honestly what changed, including if the answer is nothing.

If you change your mind before we have begun, tell us and we will refund you in full. There is no charge for changing your mind.
