Get listed where AI looks for you

Which directories should I be listed on?

Not the generic list every SEO guide hands out. Your scan names the directories the engines actually quoted when they answered your questions, which is a much shorter list and a much better use of an afternoon.

Read your own list first

Open the finding and read the technical detail. It names the directories cited in answers to the questions you chose, with how often each one came up. Those are the pages an AI already trusts and already reads about your trade in your area.

One thing this check cannot tell you is whether you are already on them. It sees which sources were quoted, not which entries carry your name, so the finding asks you to verify each rather than claiming you are missing. Checking is usually faster than reading about it.

Claim, then fill in

  1. Search the directory for your business name and town. If an entry exists somebody has probably created it for you, and claiming is faster than starting again.

  2. Use exactly the same name, address and phone number as your own site. Small differences are what make a machine unsure the two are the same business, and being unsure is the same as being absent.

  3. Link the entry back to your site. That is the path an engine follows from a page it trusts to the pages you have been improving.

  4. Fill in the categories and services rather than leaving the defaults. The default is whatever the directory guessed, and it is usually broader than what you do.

Most of them are free and take under fifteen minutes each.

What it moves

The finding prints what it is worth on your scan as X of Y points. This one has no failure state: it is either a warning or a pass, so the most it can move is half of what a failing check of the same weight would. Do the crawler access and the structured data first if both are open.
