Optimise a GoDaddy website for AI search

How do I optimise a GoDaddy website for AI search?

The Websites and Marketing builder is the most restrictive of the five platforms we write guides for. Two of the four things that matter are fully available to you, one is closed, and the most valuable one was never about the platform at all.

If your site is WordPress hosted at GoDaddy rather than built in their builder, none of this applies and the WordPress guide is the one you want.

1. Add structured data

You cannot reach the page head, and it does not matter as much as it sounds. A script block is read wherever it appears in the page, so an HTML section on your homepage passes the check exactly as a head injection would. How to add it.

2. Rewrite your opening lines

This is the one that moves a score furthest and the one no platform can take away from you. It is also, on a builder this constrained, where almost all of your available gain is. What to write, and the questions to answer. Titles, descriptions and photo descriptions are open to you here too: where they are.

3. Your Google listing

Entirely outside the builder and entirely within your control, which makes it the best value on this page for a local trade. Start here.

4. What is closed to you

You cannot edit robots.txt and you cannot serve an llms.txt. The second costs you the lightest check in the scan and is not worth regretting. The first only matters if something is actually blocking the crawlers, which on most GoDaddy sites it is not. How to check.
