Getting started

What we actually check

What does a scan look at, and what does it not?

At a glance

Three separate things: what the AI engines say about you, which costs credits, and whether your site and your Google listing are set up to be read, which are free.

Three different things, measured separately, because they fail for different reasons.

Visibility: what AI says about you

We ask each engine your tracked questions and read the answer: are you named, recommended, cited as a source, or absent? Who is named instead? Which pages do the engines cite? This is what your customers actually see, and it is the half that costs credits.

Readiness: whether they can read you

Technical checks against your site: whether AI crawlers are allowed, whether your pages carry structured data, whether your business details are consistent, whether there is an llms.txt, and so on. Almost all of these are deterministic: the same site checked twice gives the same answer. They are free and unlimited, because they cost us nothing.

Two of them are different and worth knowing about. One reads a few of your pages and scores how directly they answer the question they are about, which uses AI. The other checks whether you are listed on the directories the engines quoted when they answered your questions, which needs their answers. Both run on paid scans only. If we cannot run one, it is left out of your score rather than counted against you.

Local presence: your Google listing

If customers choose you by where you are, your Google Business Profile matters more than almost anything on your own website. It is the source AI systems quote most often about local businesses. We check it separately and score it separately, because it lives on Google’s platform rather than on your site: adding photos to your listing should not move the score that describes your website, and it does not.

Free, like the site checks. What we look at, and what needs your permission.

What we do not do

  • We do not change anything on your site. Every fix is something you paste in yourself, after reading it.

  • We do not log in anywhere. We never need access to your hosting or your CMS. You can optionally connect your Google Business Profile so we can see three things Google will only tell its owner. See your Google listing. Everything else works without it.

  • We only read pages that are already public, the same ones any search engine sees.

The exact formula, every weight and a fully worked example are on the methodology page.
